Downtown Detroit Luxury Hotel To Get $20M Refresh
Initial design renderings will be submitted for approval in early 2018, and work is to be completed by early 2019.
DETROIT, MI – The owners of the Westin Book Cadillac will pour some $20 million to overhaul and update the luxury downtown Detroit hotel. The Ferchill Group, a Cleveland-based real estate firm that owns the hotel, announced today it had hired ForrestPerkins, an interior design and architectural firm, to oversee the design of the project.
ForrestPerkins created the interior design for the hotel as part of the $200 million redevelopment 10 years ago. The current renewal project includes all guest rooms and suites, guest floor corridors, all public areas, food and beverage venues, meeting and ballrooms. Work begins in the second half of 2018, and will be completed in early 2019.
“We are looking forward to working with the ForrestPerkins team,” said Chris Ferchill, vice president of development for the Ferchill Group. “They did a terrific job when we redeveloped and opened this historic hotel in 2008, and gave the Book back to Detroit as the city’s first luxury hospitality destination.”
