A Michigan State Police trooper was pulled overrun the side of a freeway when another vehicle smashed into a tow truck and car.

DETROIT, MI – A wild crash is caught on video by a state trooper's dashcam while pulled over along a Metro Detroit freeway show this week. Michigan State Police troopers are using it as a teachable moment for other drivers.

"We talk about slowing down in bad weather and giving us a lane," tweeted the Michigan State Police. "The trooper saw it coming and was trying to get another car to block the ramp. They never made it. Please give us a lane."

The crash occurred along the Southfield Freeway near the Interstate 96 interchange at 10:25 a.m. Wednesday. The state police did not immediately respond to messages left by Patch seeking additional information.
