Fire Truck Crashes Into Car En Route To Fire Call

A 51-year-woman suffered severe injuries in the wreck on Monday.

DETROIT, MI – A woman was severely injured when she crashed with a Detroit Fire truck on its way to a fire call on Monday, according to a media report. The woman, 51, needed to be extricated from her car and was taken to a nearby hospital, the Detroit News reports.

The wreck occurred at about 7 a.m. Monday along West Seven Mile Road, east of Evergreen Road, the Detroit News reported. Firefighters were able to remove the woman from her car after the crash.

Fire officials did not immediately respond to a message left by Patch seeking further comment. The Detroit News reported that the fire call turned out to be a false alarm.
