Henry Ford Implements Visitor Restrictions Amid Coronavirus Surge

Henry Ford Health System is the latest southeast Michigan hospital adjusting visitor policies amid a recent surge in new coronavirus cases.

DETROIT, MI — Henry Ford Health System is the latest southeast Michigan hospital adjusting its visitor policies amid a recent surge in new coronavirus cases.

The health system announced Wednesday that it is instituting new temporary visitor restrictions at each of its hospitals, citing Michigan's report of nearly 6,500 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday.

Officials said each hospital has developed new policies based on the conditions in its service area, and the restrictions can be adjusted as conditions change. In areas where COVID-19 transmission is not as active, the hospital may maintain our most recent visitation policy, which is limited to one adult visitor per patient.
