The programming lineup has something for the entire family, from a Thursday Night Blues series to Friday comedy series to magic shows to weekend concerts galore and more. At Wildwood Amphitheater, the third largest outdoor amphitheater in the area behind only DTE Theater and Meadowbrook Theater, kicks off the summer entertainment season Thursday, June 10 with Eliza Neals, a Detroit born blues-rock star, prolific songwriter and one-of-a-kind performer. Other Thursday Night Blues performers scheduled are The Kenny Parker Band with special guest Jim McCarty, who broke into the music scene as a founding member and guitarist for Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels with top charting hits; blues guitarist Bobby Murray with special guest Tosha Owens, an R&B funk-rock vocalist, performing a Salute to Etta James; and Laura Rain and the Caesars, a powerhouse soul, blues and R&B quartet that is finishing its next full length album to be released later this year.

Free concerts scheduled at the Wildwood include Fifty Amp Fuse, known nationwide for delivering audiences high-energy performances and serving as a tribute act to the greatest artists of all time; Dave Bennett Trio performing jazz; The Island Guys, who will bring a bit of tropical fun to the stage with a mix of Calypso, reggae, Latin, salsa and more; and Shout! Beatles Tribute performing all the songs we know and love from the Fab Four.

Concertgoers can enjoy live entertainment outdoors by a campfire at the Fire Bowl beginning Friday, June 4 with Funk ‘N Funny Friday, the first in a series of live stand-up comedy and a rotating musical guest presented every Friday. There will be several opportunities to catch A Night of Magic with Anthony Grupido, who has opened for the famed Impractical Jokers, the 2017 “America’s Got Talent” winner Darci Lynne the Ventriloquist and comedy legend Bill Engvall, and is hailed in these parts as “Michigan’s Best Magician.”

“This summer will definitely go down in the history books as the return of the Roaring ‘20s,” said Brian Major of Orion.Events. “People need an outlet like this more than ever. They’re ready to enjoy some good entertainment in the outdoors, maybe even shake things up a bit. Our group, Orion.Events, is prepared to deliver.”

Wildwood Amphitheater is nestled in a wooded setting on almost 60 acres of Orion Township property located at 2700 Joslyn Ct. in Lake Orion. It was erected in 2010 and evokes an “up north” feel in a bustling, growing community in northern Oakland County.

Just down the road is the Fire Bowl at Camp Agawam (1301 Clarkston Rd., Lake Orion). The entertainment venue is located within Camp Agawam, previously owned and operated until 2014 by the Boy Scouts of America and now under Orion Township’s ownership. It’s a picturesque park in the middle of suburban life with roughly 140 acres, numerous camp sites, rental facilities, walking trails, a chapel and beautiful Tommy's Lake.

Both venues are centrally located and easily accessible via I-75 and expect to draw people from across Michigan.
