There were no skid marks on the road before the impact site. Police also want to know how the Dearborn Heights man got onto the highway.

DETROIT, MI – One man is dead after crashing his vehicle in the closed section of Interstate 75 near Schaefer Road on Saturday evening, reported the Michigan State Police. Investigators are looking into how the man accessed the section of highway, which is closed for construction.
Police reported that the 44-year-old man from Dearborn Heights was seen by a construction worker driving north at a high rate of speed through the construction zone just before 6 p.m. on Saturday. The driver hit large metal beams that were on the highway. Troopers investigating the crash said there were no skid marks on the highway surface.
Rescue needs to use hydraulic tools to remove the man from the wrecked car. He was then taken to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. It is unknown if alcohol/drugs were a factor.
