Michigan Adds 301 New Coronavirus Cases, 40 Deaths Thursday

The state is slowly approaching 20,000 COVID-19 deaths.

LANSING, MI — Michigan added 301 new cases of the coronavirus and 40 more COVID-19 deaths Thursday, according to the most recent COVID-19 data released by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Of the 40 deaths, 28 were identified through a vital records review and took place previously, state health officials reported.

The updated figures bring Michigan's total coronavirus numbers to 891,615 confirmed cases and 19,479 reported deaths.

According to state health officials, more than 837,864 people in Michigan have recovered from the coronavirus.
