Pregnant Woman Assaulted On I-94, Man Arrested: MSP

The woman was taken to a local hospital for her injuries.​

DETROIT — Michigan State Police arrested a person Sunday after the man reportedly assaulted a woman who was 4 months pregnant on I-94 in Detroit.

According to police, a call was made around 2:15 p.m. Sunday reportedly a woman being assaulted on eastbound I-94, near Cadieux.

Police said a man riding in the passenger seat of an eastbound vehicle said he was going to kill the woman driving a vehicle before grabbing the steering wheel and trying to crash the vehicle. The woman was able to stop the vehicle before crashing and escaped on foot, police said.

The suspect grabbed the woman by her neck and tried strangling her, police said, before throwing her on the ground. When troopers arrived at the scene, they said they found the woman lying in the middle of the freeway.

Police said they were able to take the suspect into custody, while the woman was taken to a local hospital for her injuries.
