Southbound Lanes Of I-75 Reopen For PM Rush Hour

A semi crashed into bridge, reported MDOT. Commuters should take a detour.

DETROIT, MI – A stretch of southbound lanes along Interstate 75 has reopened, according to the Michigan Department of Transportation. The southbound lanes of the freeway had been closed since early Wednesday at Interstate 94 for emergency repairs after a semi trash crash damaged the Warren Avenue overpass on Tuesday, reported MDOT.

"Heads up-SB 75 is REOPENING at 94," announced MDOT in a tweet at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Interstate 94 ramps to southbound 75 "should open soon," said the agency.

Morning commuters were advised early Wednesday that the freeway was to be closed through the afternoon hours. Road crews also closed the left lane of northbound I-75 from Mack Avenue to I-94 for the repairs.
