Speeders And Distracted Drivers Beware: MSP Is Watching For You

Troopers will be on the lookout along freeways through metropolitan Detroit.

DETROIT, MI – The Michigan State Police has a message for drivers along the freeways throughout the Detroit metropolitan area: Beware and slow down. More troopers will be watching the area over the next couple of days.

Troopers will keep an eye out not only for speeders, but distracted drivers and those following other drivers too closely, according to a statement on Wednesday.

Speed, distracted drivers and following too closely have been conditions of fatal crashes reported in the area during the past The state police have reported fatal crashes over the past two months.

Among the fatal wrecks, a man driving his car in the closed section of Interstate 75 near Schaefer Road on Saturday evening crashed into steel beams along the highway and died, reported the Michigan State Police.
