Super Bowl: Eagle From Detroit Forced Key Brady Fumble

In an offensive shootout between the Eagles and Patriots, Brandon Graham forced Tom Brady's only turnover on the night.

MINNEAPOLIS, MN – With just more than 2 minutes to play in the 2018 Super Bowl, Detroit native and former University of Michigan defensive end Brandon Graham made his presence known. In an offensive shootout, there would be only one turnover by Patriots superstar quarter back Tom Brady – and it came at the hands of Graham.

As the Patriots, down 38-33, were driving down the field in the final minutes of the game, Graham was finally able to make contact with the great and seemingly untouchable Brady. In the process, Graham forced a fumble, which ended the Patriots drive and enabled the Eagles to ice the win with a field goal and go up 41-33 – the final score.

Graham also collected the only sack of either QB in the 2018 Super Bowl.

"When the fourth quarter came we had to go out there and make a stop," Graham said after the game. "As a defense we hadn't been doing it all game. The offense carried us all the way through. At the end of the day we kept coming."

After beating beat the Patriots' Shaq Mason off the line and Graham reached his left hand out for Brady as the QB was about to throw the ball. Graham knocked the ball loose and it bounced into the hands of Eagles rookie Derek Barnett, who recovered the ball.

"It was a good bounce," Barnett said. "Right into my hands."

It's been a long road for the Graham and the Eagles. Sunday's Super Bowl win was the first title in the modern era and the first since 1960.

Graham was drafted by the Eagles in the first round and the 13th overall. He had 9.5 sacks in the 2017 season.
