VP Pence To Attend Pair Of GOP Events In Michigan
Republican gubernatorial frontrunner Bill Schuette is expected to be at the vice president's side.

DETROIT, MI – Vice President Mike Pence is expected to attend a pair of political events alongside Michigan Attorney General Bill Schuette in the Motor City on Friday, according to reports.
Schuette has been identified as the Republican frontrunner in the 2018 race for Michigan governor. He previously has received an endorsement from President Trump.
The vice president first will attend an event hosted by the American First Policies, a group founded one of Pence's key political advisors to promote Trump's political agenda. That event is to be at the Book Cadillac hotel in Detroit Friday afternoon, according to a report by MLive.

Later, Pence will attend a fundraiser for his Great American Committee PAC to support Republican congressional candidates in the state, reports Politico.
The Great Lakes State will be a battleground state for both Republicans and Democrats, who have targeted Michigan as a key state to block the Republican-leaning congressional maps, reports Politico. Schuette told Politico that's why he's going to be alongside the vice president.
