Warren Man Suspected Of Killing Aunt And Uncle Left Chilling Trail On Facebook
Joseph Lawrence Borowiak was arrested in Detroit. Police say he killed his aunt and uncle at their Warren home.
WARREN, MI — Facebook posts from a man accused of killing his aunt and uncle in their Warren home on Friday paint a chilling picture. One post, from early morning on Friday warns, "Don't you just love getting death threats...."
The man, Joseph Lawrence Borowiak, 37, was arrested Friday evening after being identified at a Detroit pizzeria. Police suspect Borowiak killed Steven, 67, and Cynthia Collins, 66, in their Panama Avenue home, where they were found dead of gunshot wounds on Friday.
Police say that Borowiak had lived with the couple until about six months ago, according to a report in the Detroit News. A neighbor, who found the couple's dog running free on Friday, called police to report something might be wrong. Officers came to the home and found them dead.

Borowiak's Facebook postings have cryptic and chilling tones about them. Many of the posts reference the Bible and death. One from Aug. 30 suggests "y'all bout to meet your MAKER." One post includes an image of a confederate flag.

Neighbors around the couple told the Detroit News that the Collinses were a quiet couple and busy with their family. Prior to Borowiak's arrest, police issued a statement indicating that officers suspect him.

"We believe this is not a random act, with the victims being targeted. Neighbors can feel secure that this terrible loss is isolated,” said Warren Police Commissioner Bill Dwyer.
