Winter Warning: Weather Service Warns Of Icy Roads
With temperatures near freezing, the National Weather Service on Friday advised caution on the roads.

DETROIT, MI – The clouds are expected to break up Friday, but not before before your morning commute. The National Weather Service early Friday issued a warning for black ice on roads.
The weather service cautioned drivers to use caution on the roads, especially those that may have not been salted or plowed. The warning was in effect Friday morning for Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Shiawassee, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Livingston, Washtenaw, Lenawee, and Monroe counties. It included the cites of Detroit, Pontiac, Flint, Port Huron, Ann Arbor and Monroe.
The weather service forecasted a slight warmup Friday afternoon, with sun and temperatures in the high 30s. And, Saturday and Sunday look promising with sun and temperatures in the 40s.

Friday's warning comes after a whopper of a late winter storm on Thursday. Snowfall varied from a few inches in Livonia to more than 8 inches in Brighton, according to a report by ClickOnDetroit.
The Michigan Department of Transportation reported several accidents across the Metro Detroit area, including one that has closed the westbound lanes of Interstate 94 at Shook in Macomb County. The Michigan State Police also reported several weather related traffic accidents and asked that drivers use extra caution on the roads.
