'Amazing Race,' CBS Reality Hit, Casting in Detroit Area
Teams of two, ages 21 and older, invited to audition in open casting call. Forgotten Harvest is conducting a food drive.

CBS, Channel 62, is looking for local adventurers, ages 21 and up, to represent Detroit on an upcoming season of the network’s hit reality show, “The Amazing Race.”
The TV station will be holding an open casting call from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at at CBS 62 Studios, 26905 W. 11 Mile Road, Southfield.
“The Amazing Race” features 11-12 teams, cast to compete to race around the world with cameras rolling 24/7. Teams are comprised of pairs who have a specific relationship to one another, be it family, husband/wife, boyfriend/girlfriend, fraternity brothers, roommates, etc.

In each episode, the pairs strive to reach various destinations by answering sets of clues and are forced to remain side-by-side all the while. At each leg of the race, the final team to arrive at the location is eliminated. Each week, the competition gets stiffer, emotions fly higher, and the level of teamwork demanded continues to rise.
One team is eliminated each week, until the final pair crosses the finish line and becomes the winner of a grand prize that includes a cash gift of $1 million.

Here’s what each pair needs to bring to the casting call:
Two signed video release forms (one for each applicant)
Valid photo identification (driver’s license or U.S. passport)
Each pair will be videotaped by CBS-62 and will have a maximum of one minute to explain why they should be contestants on “The Amazing Race.”

CBS-62 will also be teaming with Forgotten Harvest to conduct a community food drive at the casting call. Attendees are invited to bring a nonperishable food item to the June 2 audition.
