On Saturday, May 20, the Ann Arbor YMCA is holding a free community event to inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active at the annual YMCA’s Healthy Kids Day®, the Y’s national initiative to improve health and well-being for kids and families. The event will be held from 11 am – 2 pm at YMCA Camp Birkett on the shores of Silver Lake (9141 Dexter Townhall Road, Pinckney, MI 48169) and will feature activities such as canoeing, archery, games, healthy snacks and arts and crafts.

“When a child is healthy, happy, motivated, and excited something amazing is inevitably going to result,” says Steve Petty, VP of Community Initiatives. “We believe in the potential of all children, and we strive to help kids find that potential within themselves. A child’s development is never on vacation and Healthy Kids Day is a great opportunity to educate families and motivate kids to stay active in spirit, mind and body throughout the summer.” For more information, contact Ann Arbor YMCA at 734.996.9662 or visit www.annarborymca.org.
