Dexter Community Schools Closed Friday

With up to eleven inches of snow expected, Dexter Community Schools announced Friday's closing Thursday evening.

With a winter storm on the way and meteorologists predicting snowfall of 9 to 11 inches across the area, nearly every school in Metro Detroit and still more in Washtenaw and Macomb counties announced Thursday that Friday classes would be canceled. By midnight, Click on Detroit’s school closings page listed over 700 area schools that had announced weather-related closures for Friday. With so much snow predicted for the morning, Dexter Community Schools joined this large group of schools and announced the cancellation of its Friday classes.

According to the schools' webpage, "Dexter Schools will be closed on Friday, February 9th due to the heavy snow forecast. A decision regarding evening events and weekend events will be made around noon on Friday."
For parents wondering what Monday will bring, the Dexter Community Schools' website will have any announcements, and the district also alerts parents via automated texts, emails and phone calls.
