Farmington Hills police said alcohol and visibility were factors in a pedestrian-vehicle crash that killed a 24-year-old man Monday.
FARMINGTON HILLS, MI — Farmington Hills police said alcohol and visibility were factors in a pedestrian-vehicle crash that killed a 24-year-old Hamtramck man Monday.
The man died when he was hit by a vehicle while walking on the M-5 highway, near Halsted Road, according to police. Police said the man was transported to Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, where he later died from his injuries.
Police said the victim was walking west in the eastbound lanes of M-5 with another man, a 25-year-old Detroit man, when a vehicle traveling east on M-5 hit the victim.

The driver of the vehicle, a 21-year-old Dearborn man, and his three passengers, were uninjured in the crash, police said.
Police said alcohol and visibility were contributing factors.
