Asian Business Owners Targeted For Home Invasions
A series of home invasions in Oakland County specifically aimed at Asian business owners, police say.

Three men believed responsible for a rash of home invasions were arrested Feb. 14 when police saw them attempting to break into a house in Farmington Hills. The men have been charged in a collection of Oakland County home invasions affecting Asian business owners that dates back four years. Police started to see a pattern in the crimes, eventually determining that the suspects selected victims based on ethnicity and work, before extensively casing homes and planning the crimes, according to Click on Detroit.
Farmington Hills Police saw Alban and Andi Mustafa breaking into a home Feb. 14, arresting them on the scene. Afterwards, police obtained search warrants and found stolen property taken from previous home invasion victims. Alban and Andi Mustafa each face charges of second-degree home invasion, conspiracy, possession of breaking and entering tools and obtaining personal identification information. Police also arrested a third suspect in the home invasions, Sotiraq Lako, Feb. 2, charging him with conspiracy to commit home invasion.
