Blood Drive Hosted At Costick Center on June 1

Giving blood takes approximately one hour. Donors must be in general good health, weigh at least 110 pounds, and at least 17 years of age.

From the City of Farmington Hills: The Southeastern Michigan branch of the American Red Cross will sponsor a blood drive on Thursday, June 1 from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. at the Costick Center, located at 28600 W. Eleven Mile Road between Middlebelt and Inkster in Farmington Hills.

It’s often difficult to collect blood donations at this time of year due to the graduations, parties, and weddings that occur. Community members are urged to take time out of their busy social schedules to donate and help ensure that safe and abundant blood resources are available during the summer season. Collected blood donations are used for emergency and trauma care, surgeries, and the treatment of serious diseases.

To make an appointment to donate on June 1, call 248-473-1800 or register online at www.redcrossblood.org. Enter the sponsor code costickcenter and follow the instructions to set up an appointment time for the blood drive.
