Farmington Hills Police Promote Buckberry To Sergeant
Eric Buckberry, a 26-year police veteran, was promoted from officer to sergeant.

The Farmington Hills Police Department announced a promotion Wednesday. Eric Buckberry, who’s served with the department for 26 years, was promoted to the rank of sergeant. Buckberry serves in the Operations Bureau.
Buckberry started with the Farmington Police Department in 1991 as a cadet, and was then promoted to police officer and now, to sergeant. During his long tenure with the department, Buckberry had many assignments, including patrol officer, detective, and U.S. Customs task force officer. Buckberry also directed the patrol unit, and worked as a narcotics investigator with the Oakland County Narcotics Enforcement Team (NET). Buckberry has also been a department instructor, working as a field training officer, firearms instructor, tactical rifle instructor, and Krav Maga instructor.
Buckberry earned his associate's degree from Schoolcraft College and has received over 45 citations and awards, including the 2000 City of Farmington Hills Police Officer of the Year, the 2013 American Legion Police Officer of the Year, and the Police Officers Association of Michigan 2013 Distinguished Service Award.
"Sergeant Buckberry's extensive experience and leadership is a great asset to the Patrol Division and the community," said Chief Chuck Nebus.
