Farmington Hills Ranks Among Best Michigan Cities for Job Seekers

The city had one of the 5 highest unemployment rates among the top 15 communities.

Nerd Wallet recently named Farmington Hills the 13th best place in Michigan for job seekers. Neighboring Livonia took top honors. 

NerdWallet, a consumer advocacy site, asked the following questions as part of its analysis:

  • Is the city growing?
  • Can you afford to live in the city comfortably?
  • Are most people employed?

Farmington Hills' 7.2 percent unemployment rate ranked well above Livonia's, which is 4.2 percent. Among the top 15 cities, only Sterling Heights, Troy, Taylor and Bay City had higher unemployment. 

NerdWallet analyzed 34 communities with populations greater than 25,000.
