Farmington Snow Emergency: What’s Closed
With a foot of snow expected by Sunday, schools, businesses and even government offices have announced closings.

With a foot of snow expected by Sunday, and at least four inches on the ground already, the City of Farmington Hills is asking residents to remove parked from roads by midnight on Friday. In a post to the city’s Facebook account, officials also warned that “Clearing the roadways of snow will result in snow piles in front of driveways, which is unavoidable. It is not possible for the City to clear individual driveways.”
According to the post, plows will focus efforts on major mile roads until the storm passes. After that, the city will continue with plowing and clean-up of operations. “Once snow plowing begins, follow the progress of neighborhood snow plowing by referring interactive snow plow progress map,” the announcement says. “We will post a link to the map later on today.”
In addition to all schools being closed Friday, the 47th District Court is also closed The court says anyone with court business should call Monday after 8:30 a.m. The Farmington Community Library Main Library and Farmington branch also announced closures for Friday, and the City of Farmington says city offices will close at 2 p.m. on Friday.
