Man Dies in Farmington Hills House Fire
Family members and police tried to rescue the man before firefighters arrived late Monday night.

A local family is mourning the death of a man killed in a house fire that happened late Monday, in the 28000 block of West 10 Mile Road, west of Inkster Road.
In a press release issued late Tuesday morning, Farmington Hills fire officials noted that the man's name is being withheld, pending notification of family members.Â
According to the release, family members who had gone to the home to check on the man discovered the fire and called 911 at around 10 p.m. Neither family members nor police officers who responded to the scene were able to enter the home, due to heavy smoke and flames.Â
Firefighters were able to get the man out of the burning building, but he had succumbed to injuries.Â
The fire remains under investigation, and no additional information is being released. Fire and police officials have asked that everyone keep the family in their thoughts and prayers over this holiday season.
