Summer travel season is packed with opportunities to experience new foods, scenery and adventures. Some of the best places to visit to experience it all are Boston, Sonoma, and the Great Smokey Mountains. If you’re craving an international vacation try Cancun or the Caribbean.

“I think people generally have a few hesitations about international travel if they’re not use to it,” said Travel expert Lee Abbamonte. “One is the language barrier and I always tell people is number one doing worry about it just go for it anyway. I think learning s a couple words in their native tongue is important. Words like hello, goodbye, please and thank you. There is a much better chance they speak better English than you speak their languages but if you show a little bit of effort they will always go the extra mile to try and help you out because they will be flattered that you took the time to try. Body language is important you would be surprised how much you can get done by just using some body language.”

Finding the resources to travel requires creativity, but with the right plan there are many opportunities to maximize financial rewards during summer travel - from purchasing international airfare to embarking on fun road trips to enjoying delicious cuisine and experiencing new cultural adventures. Whether visiting your favorite all-inclusive resort or going camping with the family, there are simple ways to ensure your summer trips are rewarding in both cherished memories and financial rewards you can earn for your wallet.

“Save for the dream vacation by cutting back on a few things that you don’t really need for instance if you buy the expensive coffee maybe get your own coffee maker and save a couple bucks that way” said Abbamonte. “Maximize your points to help pay for things for instance I use the Premium Rewards credit card combined with the Bank of America Reward program because I earn 3.5 points on all travel and dining purchases which will help me use my rewards to get things like free flights and hotels much faster and I save a lot of money that way.”

“Keep track of finances utilize mobile technology; using apps to keep track of your bank and credit cards. For instance I use the Bank of America app to keep track of everything. They have something called My Rewards you can see the balances of all the different rewards programs you have, your purchases, it keeps everything straight.”

“There is so much information you there you need to find people that you trust. I like a website called leeabbamonte.com but I’m a little bit biased there but I do thing travel blogs are a great source of information because they are from real people. Find someone you like and has been to the places that you’re thinking about going and take their opinion as gospel really because they have no real incentive to lie to you.”
