Metro Detroit Emergency Medicine Physician Pino D. Colone
Becomes President of Michigan State Medical Society

EAST LANSING – The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) formally welcomes Pino D. Colone, MD (Howell, MI), an Emergency Medicine Specialist, as the new President of the Society. Doctor Colone was appointed president during the 156th annual meeting of the MSMS House of Delegates held virtually on May 1st.
Doctor Colone is a board-certified emergency physician who earned his medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Michigan. Doctor Colone also serves as the Vice Chair of the American Medical Association’s Council on Constitution & Bylaws, on the Genesee County Medical Society Board of Directors, and is a member of the Michigan College of Emergency Physicians.
“The Michigan State Medical Society provides the kind of training, resources, and advocacy that make an incredible difference to the physicians across the state working to provide the very best in quality care to Michigan’s patients,” Doctor Colone said. “I’m honored and humbled to be taking the helm of an organization committed to such lofty work, and I look forward to carrying our organization’s mission forward through the coming year.”

The Michigan State Medical Society is the statewide professional association of 15,000 physicians in Michigan and is affiliated with the American Medical Association. Physician policies on various issues involving public health, health care delivery and medical ethics are set at the annual MSMS House of Delegates meeting.
