Michigan Is 2021’s 9th Worst State for Jobs
The personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2021's Best & Worst States for Jobs

Employment is on the rise but the employment rate remains low. The unemployment rate jumped in April 2020 to a level not seen since the 1930s — and still stood at 5.8 percent in May 2021, compared with 3.5 percent in February 2020. The official unemployment rate, however, understates current job losses.
While the economy has added jobs in recent months, there were still 7.6 million fewer jobs in May 2021. The majority of jobs lost in the crisis have been in industries that pay low average wages, with the lowest-paying industries accounting for 30 percent of all jobs.
With the economy gaining 559,000 jobs in May, picking up steam after last month’s disappointing numbers, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2021’s Best & Worst States for Jobs.
