Who will the new students at Boo U. pledge their loyalty to? Will it be the
witches who can teach them spells? Will it be the zombies, the
phantoms, or the superheroes? Come
and discover the answer as the 105-member, a cappella, Motor City Blend
Chorus presents a “Positively DeFRIGHTful” Halloween show at 3 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 22 at the Ford Community and Performing Arts Center, 15801
Michigan Ave., Dearborn. Ticket

quartet (throwbackquartet.com), the current fourth place international
Barbershop Harmony Society bronze medalist performs. The four musically
talented men are originally from Florida, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. First

quartet, current Region 2 champion; Up to Note Good quartet, current
Region 2 fourth place medalist; and Spectrum quartet, current Region 2
fifth place medalist.

Motor City Blend rehearses at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Orchard United Methodist
Church, 30450 Farmington Road, Farmington Hills. Members come from
Canada and Ohio, and 11 different Michigan counties. Sandra Carpenter,
Kathy Green and Pat Shuffler, all of Farmington Hills, belong to the
chorus.

Motor City Blend is a new chorus of Sweet Adelines International directed by LeAnn K. Hazlett and Sylvia Karpinsky. Its first rehearsal was in January, and the chorus won first place in its
regional competition in April. That earned the group the opportunity to
compete in the Sweet Adelines International competition in St. Louis
with other choruses from around the world in October 2018.
