“Sculptors in Print” exhibit opens at the Old Mormon Print Shop
Beaver Island Art Exhibit Will Feature Acclaimed Artists' Works

The exhibition “Sculptors in Print” will open at the Old Mormon Print Shop on Friday, May 28, 2021 and run through Labor Day weekend.
Organized by the Beaver Island Historical Society, the exhibition features works of traditional and non-traditional printmaking techniques such as 3D, monoprint, linocut and silkscreen. Sculpture and printmaking have always had an affinity, and as Lori Taylor-Blitz, Director of Beaver Island Historical Museum says about the new exhibition at the Old Mormon Print Shop, "It’s interesting when a sculptor brings their sensibility for space to the constraints of a single plane, and unafraid to experiment and explore different means of making marks."
The “Sculptors in Print” exhibit brings together selected prints by Michael Fels, Brian Ferriby, Kevin Bowen and John Sauve, each making their unique mark in print. With each artist providing a diverse approach to their printmaking the “Sculptors in Print” exhibit provides an interesting experience, especially when viewed with the three dimensional artwork by the same artists.
