Suspects In Holiday Inn Express Robberies Arrested
Farmington Hills Police arrested two Ingham County residents Friday.

OAKLAND COUNTY, MI — Two Ingham County residents were arrested Friday and charged in connection with robberies of two Oakland County Holiday Inn Express hotels. Jamele Andre Atkins, 31, of Lansing and Marlena Benita Villanueva, 32 of Holt, led Farmington Hills Police on a short chase before being caught, according to police reports.
Southfield Police spotted their car near Nine Mile Road and Telegraph at about 12:30 a.m. Friday and attempted to stop them. But the suspects fled into Farmington Hills where they were captured.
Police reports said Atkins and Villanueva are suspects in robberies at the hotels, one on Northwestern Highway in Farmington Hills and the other on Haggerty Road in Northville.

Atkins and Villanueva were arraigned Friday at the 47th District Court in Farmington Hills on armed robbery charges. Villanueva received a $500,000 cash or surety bond and Atkins was ordered to be held without bond. A preliminary exam date set of Nov. 1 was set for both.
