There Is Still Time For A Summer Break with an RV Getaway
RV bookings have nearly tripled since last year, increasing by more than 1,600% since early April

According to AAA’s 2020 Summer Forecast, about 97 percent of Americans who plan to travel this summer, plan to do so by getting behind the wheel.
Americans have spent months under Stay at Home orders issued by their states leaving people cooped up inside. Stay at home orders have mostly been lifted leaving people wanting to get out.
According to an RVshare Travel Sentiment Survey, April 2020 77 percent are looking to make travel plans within the next three months*. While the rush back to airports or hotels in busy cities may take a little more time, many will turn to RV travel. When planning a trip in the next three months, the overwhelming majority of respondents (93%) want to avoid crowds. The importance of avoiding crowded places when traveling has increased by 70% since the pandemic started. Additionally, 84% plan to travel with their partner or immediate family instead of friends or extended family.

“I think we’re in the middle of kind of a different summer where everyone still wants to go on vacation but those vacations are behind the wheel, “said Jon Gray, CEO of RVshare. “That’s because people are scared to get on airplanes and their prioritizing time with their families and getting outside. RVs fit that perfectly they give you a wonderful amount of control over vacation that you don’t have in traditional ways of vacationing. You know if you get on an airplane your around a bunch of other people. If you’re getting into a hotel that has a lot of rooms you are around a bunch of people. In an RV you’re only around people you are taking with you. You’re bringing your bathroom and kitchen with you and it gives you far more control over your vacation experience.”
“When you’re planning an RV road trip think about where you want to go, how many people you want to take with you and the overall plan for the trip is going to be” said Gray. “Secondly come in with a budget. When you think about a budget you need to think about budgeting for campgrounds, gas as well as the price of renting an RV. The third thing and this is probably most important is to make sure you find an RV through a reputable site like RV Share. Here you can search from over a 100,000 RVs and find one that fits your needs. But also look through the third party reviews and make sure the RV has had good experiences in the past. All those type of things with the previous renters and you can also get insurance through the site and we have 24 hour roadside assistance for anything that might go wrong through the trip.”
