Dangerous wind chills and heavy snow have led Waste Management, which handles trash and recyclables in Farmington and Farmington Hills, to cancel collections on Monday.
Spokesperson Tom Horton said the company made the call Sunday night in the interest of employee safety.
Collection will be delayed one day through the week, with Monday's pick-up on Tuesday and Friday's on Saturday.
