“The best place to start when you’re thinking about updating a bathroom is with a little bit of functional design,” said Laurie March, HGTV Host and Design Expert. “You want to make the space work a little better for you. The quickest way to do that is start by updating a vanity, this can change the entire look and feel of the space, adds a bunch of style but truthfully its really going to work on your storage needs.” A great way to do this is to use vanity configurator tool from the Home Depot. You can select your door style and color, even a vanity top if you need one, enter your vanity layout, enter the design space and you’re done.

Bathroom mirrors from Home Decorator Collection has Features Fog-Free technology! “You won’t have to spend a lot of time cleaning off that mirror. Just hang the mirror right on the wall,” said March.

“Quickest way to update your bathroom and make a big change is with paint,” said March. “Home Depot got together with Behr and they created the Marquee Paint line look up Its one coat coverage and you can have the bathroom back sooner than later.. What color should you paint your bathroom? I like to think anything in the warm neutrals is going to be fabulous whether your updating your bathroom for yourself or doing it for relate. Colors like tans, taupes and warm grays will serve both purposes perfectly.”

“One way you can make your bathroom look bigger is by getting the size of your tile right,” said March. If you’re looking to do a DIY project you could update your shower tile or your floor tile in your bathroom. You really want to make sure you get the size right. A little bigger tile while make the room feel a little bigger. Subway tile is always hot and super popular. White is always traditional and it’s a classic look but blue is great too. There are lots of colors of subway tile there fresh and interesting. There are a lot of shapes that have come out in tile one of them that has come out and is a great trend is Hexagons. This is something that comes from nature so it is always going to be a classic look even though it’s hot and trendy and it has some historical time too. In the 20s it was really popular. So Hexagon coming back is awesome but you don’t want to put in tile your thinking about ripping out later.”
