2 Halloween Events Make for Seasonal Family Fun
City doesn't set trick-or-treat hours; families asked to stick to reasonable hours, respect households that don't participate.
Costumes, check. Stocked candy bowls, check. It’s trick-or-treat time in Ferndale.
The city doesn’t establish trick-or-treat hours. Rather, families should use their best judgment by sticking to reasonable hours and respecting households that choose not to participate, Ferndale Mayor Dave Coulter said.
“Halloween is a fun and festive time, and we want to make sure it’s a safe time as well,” Coulter in a news release. “It’s important that we all work together to keep our children safe. Drive cautiously, remain alert, and encourage safety in your neighborhood.”

Those on the hunt for safe, family-fun activities will find two great community events in Ferndale:
- Downtown Ferndale Trick-or-Treat Night, from 4-6 p.m. Saturday.
- Halloween Bash at the Ferndale Area District Library, 6-8 p.m. Saturday. This year’s theme is Star Wars; features include a trick-or-treating trail, make-your-own lightsabers and origami Yoda, and a silly photo booth. It’s a drop-in event open to all, regardless of age or city of residency.
