Como’s Building Hits Market

Owners Want $4 Million For Prime Location

After announcing its permanent closing late last month, Ferndale mainstay Como’s listed its building for sale, according to Crain’s Detroit Business. The pizza restaurant closed temporarily in September for health code violations, before announcing its permanent shuttering in December. After a 66-year run, Como's had nearly $1 million in tax liens, about $300,000 of which have been paid.

The 8,000-square-foot building, located at the corner of Woodward Avenue and Nine Mile Road is listed on Loopnet. Ad copy on the real estate website describes the Como’s building as “Prime retail space on the corner of 9 Mile Road and Woodward Avenue in the Heart of Ferndale. This property has been family owned for over six decades and has never been available on the open market. This corner space is a prime location for residential development or the next trendy/hip bar restaurant in ferndale.”
