Ferndale Clerk May Have Been Pistol-Whipped In Robbery: Police
The suspects, both of whom were wearing masks, got away with a large safe and a hard drive from security monitoring equipment, police said.

FERNDALE, MI — A 24-year-old clerk may have been pistol-whipped in an early morning armed robbery at a Ferndale gas station, Ferndale Det. Lt. William J. Wilson said in a statement Saturday. The clerk is expected to recover, but the two suspects got away with a large sale and hard drive from the store security recording device, Wilson said.
The robbery occurred about 3:50 a.m. at the Citgo gas station at Eight Mile Road and Pinecrest Drive. Two men, both armed with pistols and both wearing masks, attacked the clerk and beat him the read, possibly with pistols, Wilson said.
The clerk was knocked unconscious, Wilson said. When he regained consciousness, he ran to the Shell gas station at Eight Mile and Livernois Avenue and called police.

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries, according to a statement.
No further information about the robbery is known at this time. Police are asking help from anybody who may have information about the crime. Those with information should call Ferndale Police at (248) 541-3650, or leave a tip at Crime Stoppers for a possible reward.
