Ferndale Home Destroyed After Owner Tries To Smoke Bomb Skunk

Fire claimed a Ferndale home Monday after the owner tried using a smoke bomb to get rid of skunks.

The Ferndale fire department couldn’t save a house on W. Webster Street after the owner caused a fire with a smoke bomb meant to kill skunks. The home near 8 Mile and Woodward was declared a total loss after Monday’s fire, according to WXYZ.

The homeowner told first responders he hoped to clear a skunk (or skunks) from underneath his home, and set the smoke bomb off in his basement. No one was injured in the fire. As far as anyone at the scene could tell, that included the unknown skunk (or skunks) who put events in motion.
