Ferndale PD Issues Missing Advisory For 82-Year-Old Man

The man was last seen wearing a blue and white print golf shirt and a blue baseball hat, police said. ​

FERNDALE, MI — An 82-year-old Ferndale man with Alzheimer's Disease has been reported missing, according to a news release issued by the Ferndale Police Department.

According to the department, the man was reported missing around 7:30 p.m. Thursday. The man, Joe Lemelin, had walked away from the family home in the 1400 block of LeRoy without anyone noticing, police said.

Surveillance footage reviewed by police showed Lemelin leaving the home around 6:30 p.m. and walking west on LeRoy Avenue from Central, police said. He was wearing a blue and white print golf shirt and a blue baseball hat, police said.

Officers searched the area throughout Thursday night and into Friday morning but were unable to locate Lemelin, police said.
