Ferndale Police Searching For Carjacking Suspects

A pair of women narrowly escaped being carjacked at Ferndale Wendy's Restaurant on Monday.

FERNDALE, MI — A pair of women narrowly escaped being carjacked at a Ferndale Wendy’s Restaurant late Monday night. The women were waiting in the drive through line at the restaurant on Woodward Avenue just south of Nine Mile Road at about 11 p.m. when a pair of men approached their vehicle.

Ferndale Police said one of the suspects went to the driver’s side window and pointed a silver handgun at the woman sitting in the passenger’s seat. The suspect ordered the women out of the car.

Instead of getting out of the car, however, the driver hit the gas pedal and sped away. The gunman was knocked to the ground by her car and the gun flew out of his hand.
