Ferndale’s Otus Supply Celebrates First Anniversary

Week Of Events Marks One Year For New Nightspot

Known for live music and New American style cuisine, Otus Supply opened a year ago and began offering items like wood-fired pizzas, drunken spaghetti with roasted chestnuts, goat cheese and saba; Indianbrook trout and “pan” chowder - a take on the classic involving littleneck clams and sourdough.

This week’s offerings include many chances to sample the menu, see a film, or dance the night away.

Monday, Jan. 8, 8 p.m. - 12:30 a.m.
Tonight, there’s a movie double feature movie. From 8 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., Otus will screen Kingsman: Golden Circle and Kingsman: The Secret Service. The screenings are free.

Tuesday, Jan. 9, 5-7 p.m.
Take 5!, a networking event, presented by the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce, offers residents a chance to socialize and share a drink with members of the chamber. . The event is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. This event is free.

Wednesday, Jan. 10, 6 p.m.
Otis Supply hosts Gimme Shelter, a benefit for the South Oakland Shelter (SOS). With dinner provided by the chefs at Otus and music by Dave Simonett (Trampled By Turtles). A portion of proceeds from the four-course dinner, wine pairings, and Simonett’s performance will benefit SOS. The full event is $100. For just the concert, it’ll be $25.

Thursday, Jan. 11, 6 p.m.
Otus Cellar Beer Fest, a new tradition beginning in 2018, will allow participants to sample Otus’ own cellar beers. For $30, you get eight tokens allowing you to try any 2-ounce beer sample, along with food via a wood-fired pizza bar.

Friday, Jan. 10, 8 p.m.
Ohio jam band the Werks and special guest Sun Tribe will perform. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and the show is 21 and over only.

Saturday, Jan. 13: Sold-Out
The Budos Band performs in Michigan for the first time in over six years.

Sunday, Jan. 14, 8 p.m.
Keller Williams will perform. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.

The festivities conclude - in a sense, though the bar and restaurant will continue putting on shows and serving its take on new American cuisine - Monday, Jan. 15 when Otus hosts a Martin Luther King Day performance by the Rebirth Brass Band, a Grammy-winning ensemble. Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the door, and the event is 21 and over, only.
