Ferndale Schools Announce Friday Snow Day Thursday Night
With up to eleven inches of snow expected, Ferndale Schools announced Friday's closing Thursday evening.

With a winter storm on the way and meteorologists predicting snowfall of 9 to 11 inches across the area, nearly ever school in Metro Detroit and still more in Washtenaw and Macomb Counties announced Thursday that Friday classes would be canceled. By midnight, Click on Detroit’s school closings page listed over 700 area schools that had announced weather-related closures for Friday. With so much snow predicted for the morning, Ferndale Schools joined this large group of schools and announced the cancellation of its Friday classes.
According to the schools' webpage and a post on its Twitter feed, "“Ferndale Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, February 9th due to weather."
For parents wondering what Monday will bring, there’s a dedicated section on the Ferndale Public Schools' website as well as announcements on the district's Facebook page and Twitter to let families know when school is delayed or closed.
