Holiday Double Feature Opening At The Ringwald

David Sedaris' Christmas Shows Feature Macy's Santaland Memories, more

David Sedaris’ The SantaLand Diaries and a second play, Season’s Greetings, offer a unique spin on the winter holidays. Sedaris, whose nonfiction memoir pieces have been featured in the New Yorker and on public radio's This American Life, once worked as an elf at Macy’s Santaland, and his insider take on this experience remains hilarious more than twenty years later. The show opens at the Ringwald theater for the eleventh consecutive year.

Richard Payton plays both characters in the two shows, during a an all-too-brief five-show run. The current production debuts Thursday, Dec 14, and will run every night through Monday, Dec 18. Evening shows take place Thursday though Saturday - and also Monday - night at 8:00 PM, while Sunday, the Ringwald hosts a single 5 p.m. matinee. Tickets for the weekend evening shows are $20, the Sunday matinee is $15, and, as usual, any Monday show at the Ringwald is just $10. Tickets are available online or at the door.
