Livernois Tap One Of Metro Detroit Highest-Rated New Restaurants
"Awesome place, amazing food! This place is great for the entire family," wrote one reviewer on Yelp.

FERNDALE, MI — Located at 567 Livernois Avenue, Axle Brewing Company’s Livernois Tap is one of metropolitan Detroit highest-rated new restaurants by Eater Detroit and reviewers on Yelp. From craft beers to a varied menu, the restaurant grabs four out of five star ranking on Yelp.
“Look out for spicy snacks like the Crispy Animal Parts (fried pork, chicken, and fish skins seasoned to tastes like Doritos), as well as fried bologna corn dogs, and shareable chicken paprikash,” wrote Eater Detroit in its report, “The Hottest Restaurants in Detroit Right Now, October 2017.”
To make the list, restaurants had to have opened within the past six months. A total of 15 restaurants made the list with three from Ferndale and the rest in Detroit.

“The home brew is very good! I had a porter and my wife a lager,” he wrote. “Both tastey...lager w/ medium body..hopped but not too. Porter Carmelly and rich. Great food, especially for a brew pub. Executive chef on site! Young friendly wait staff..very helpful and attentive.”
Gary B. of Royal Oak gave the restaurant just two stars on June 9. He was mostly critical of portions at Livernois Tap.
“The beer ranges from pretty good to rather middle of the road for the various styles,” Gary B. wrote. “About 1/4 of them were not worth the price charged. Also, many styles are served in tulips that shouldn't be.
“The appies were good, but flawed. Chip dip and deconstructed coney dogs were served with less than 1/4 the bread/chips they needed, and they charge $1 per refill for the bread and chips needed to exhaust the dips and meat loafs. It came across as very grasping.”
Jessica P of Royal Oak was much more upbeat about the establishment in a Sept. 21 review. She gave it four stars.
“Awesome place, amazing food! This place is great for the entire family. They have a great variety of food and drinks to choose from, and you definitely won't be disappointed. Whether you want your own meal or to share with someone else the portion sizes are perfect. In my opinion, this is a great neighborhood place that everyone should check out!”
