Superheroes invited to Walk for Miracles at Detroit Zoo
Support teh Children's Miracle Network at Beaumont Children's
Superheroes of all ages are invited to Beaumont Children’s “Walk for Miracles” at the Detroit Zoo, Saturday, June 10. On-site registration opens at 7:30 a.m. The walk starts at 8:15 a.m. Blaine and Lauren, 96.3 WDVD morning show hosts, will serve as emcees.
Money raised through Walk for Miracles will help support care for Beaumont Children’s patients like Aiden who was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. When Aiden was a young child, he could not communicate his thoughts and feelings and this led to significant issues when interacting with others. He had severe outbursts and could not go out in public without fear that he might have a verbal or physical outburst.
Not knowing where to turn, Aiden’s parents took him to Beaumont Children’s Ted Lindsay Foundation HOPE Center where he started individualized behavioral therapy after being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. He received treatment based on his specific needs and was able to learn alternative ways to help modify his actions. Now a successful fifth grader, Aiden has made amazing strides with help from the therapists he worked with and programs he participated in at the Lindsay Foundation HOPE Center.
