
While there are infinite ideas for a fun New Year, Ferndale has a few things going on that stand out. If you're staying close to home, these option give you a little drink, a little entertainment, and even (depending on venue) a nibble or two.
A Very Ferndale New Year's Eve
When: Sunday, Dec. 31, 9 p.m.-4 a.m.
Dino’s Lounge, 22740 Woodward Ave, Ferndale
Price: $60 for singles, $110 for couples (no couple discount the day of the event).
Dino’s Lounge and the neighboring J’s Penalty Box will feature live bands from 9:30 PM until 3:00 AM. Bands slated to perform include Jennifer Westwood and The Handsome Devils, Ryan Dillaha and The Miracle Men and Jeremy Porter and The Tucos. The bars will offer drinks specials, and you can count down til midnight from the dance floor, where organizers plan the “largest synchronized balloon drop in Ferndale history.” There will be late night food, and a champagne toast. New Years Eve with the Mega 80s: A New Show for a New Year.

When: Sunday, Dec 31, 8 p.m.
Where: The Magic Bag, 22920 Woodward Avenue, Ferndale
This 80s theme party presents itself as an alternative to staying in and watching TV. The band, Class of 98, will rock in the New Year at the Magic Bag. Tickets are $35 via the Magic Bag’s website.
New Year’s Eve at Go Comedy!
When: Sunday, Dec 31, 7:30 p.m. (first show) and 10 p.m. (second show).
Where: Go Comedy, 261 E. Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale
Go Comedy will host two improv shows New Year’s Eve. The 7:30pm show includes hors d'oeuvres, prizes, and drink specials. The 10pm show includes food, prizes, specials, and a champagne toast at midnight. You can also stick around as Go Comedy says they’ll be “up late partying with music, drink specials, an onstage photo booth, and more!” Tickets are $35 (7:30 show) and $50 (10 p.m. show).
