Woman Arrested For Assaulting Boyfriend Who Wouldn’t Move In
After her boyfriend declined to move in with her, a Ferndale woman is arrested for attacking him.

Paulette Thompson, 36, thought she’d be celebrating a new partnership. Instead, she stands accused of domestic violence for allegedly attacking the boyfriend who declined her invitation to move in with her.
The Ferndale woman was arrested Jan. 26 after she argued with a North Branch man at her Ferndale home, attacking him when he told her he couldn't move in, according to police. Monday, Judge Joseph Longo ordered her to stand trial in Ferndale 43rd District on the assault charges.
According to the Daily Tribune, Thompson has two 2017 domestic violence convictions connected to a different man. When the victim in the 2018 case arrived at her home Jan. 26, he told her he couldn’t move in because he needed to find a job, triggering the fight.

Ferndale Police Sgt. Baron Brown said officers found the victim fleeing the home when they arrived, and that he had cuts on his face and neck. Police say Thompson punched, slapped and hit her victim before picking up a broom and escalating the attack.
Thompson will be arraigned Feb. 26 in front of Oakland County Circuit Judge Daniel O’Brien.
