From Pokemon to chess
When asked about 13-year-old Prestyn, his adoption specialist pauses thoughtfully, and her answer is heartfelt. “He’s bright, fun-loving, hopeful. He’s a great kid who’s had a rough go.”

“Prestyn is a happy, bubbly youth, but he also appears sad at times. He is talkative and easy to get along with. He is very helpful and offers assistance to others without being asked and enjoys doing chores in the home.”
She adds, “He’s kind of shy at first but will open up quickly and talk about his interests with enthusiasm.”

And one thing Prestyn is very enthusiastic about is playing games. In fact, if one of Prestyn’s wishes came true, he would have “every game in the world.”
He belongs to his school’s Extreme Gamer’s Guild and is an avid chess player. He also participated on a wrestling team and enjoys following pro wrestler organization WWE.
A Math lover
“My favorite part of school is math,” said Prestyn. “I got an A+!”
When not in school, Prestyn likes to be outdoors and enjoys sledding and playing with friends.
“He also likes to attend ‘Meet-and-Greets’,” says his adoption worker, “where prospective adoptive parents have a chance to talk with the children during a fun activity like bowling or rock-wall climbing.”
Though he’s not sure yet of what he wants to be as an adult, Prestyn is sure that he’d like a “forever family” that would love him, care for him – and have fun.
A trip to Canada
“I’d like to go on outings and vacations – and to see Canada -- with my family,” he says, “and pray with them, talk with them. “
When asked what important things he wants people to know about him, Prestyn responds, “That I like Pokemon…that I am a nice kid, and I care about people.”
