A Child is Waiting: Kyler Loves Drawing, Learning, Basketball
Hundreds of Michigan children are hoping for adoption, for a family for a family of their own.

Though a typical kid might begin to withdraw from family when they become a teenager, fourteen-year-old Kyler yearns for a family to be close to and to enjoy activities – and daily life – together.
LOVES SPORTS AND BEING ACTIVE

“With a family,” Kyler says, “I’d like to go fishing, camping, sit by bonfires, attend family gatherings, go to sporting events; having a home, doing things together, and having parents and siblings.”
“Kyler is a very caring young man,” his adoption worker says, “and all he wants is to be part of a family. You can see the passion and eagerness in his face for a family of his own.”

HE’S AN ARTIST
His care providers describe Kyler as helpful, responsible, happy, energetic, caring, creative, athletic, a leader – and a great artist.
“He had a blast showing me his Christmas gifts, which included pens, markers, adult coloring books and how-to-draw books,” says his adoption worker. “He did a great drawing of -- of all things -- a tennis shoe: it’s shaded, and colored…It is sharp! He keeps it as a cover on one of his school binders.”
ENJOYS LEARNING – ESPECIALLY MATH
Kyler likes being outdoors, and he loves basketball! He also enjoys playing cards and board games, swimming, bowling and participating in MYOI (Michigan Youth Opportunity Initiative). He likes learning new things and is very successful at math.
His care providers believe Kyler would do well with two parents or a single male in a family in which he is the only or youngest child.
“He would need help with consistency and structure, to know that they care and are concerned about him,” his adoption worker states, “He would like, and would thrive with, an active family.”
When expressing his desire for a forever family of his own, Kyler says, “I want people to know that I am creative, helpful and respectful; that I have a good sense of humor; that I believe in people.”
He adds, “I just want a family who wants me, a family to love and who loves me.”
