Grand Rapids Celebrates Memorial Day With City-Wide Light Event
Grand Rapids will celebrate Memorial Day with a weekend-long Light Grand Rapids event.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The City of Grand Rapids in partnership with the United Veterans Council of Kent County will celebrate Memorial Day with a weekend-long Light Grand Rapids event. The lighting event calls on all residents and businesses to light up their yards and houses during the Memorial Day weekend.
The United Veterans Council of Kent County has chosen to host a virtual event in lieu of its annual City-sponsored Memorial Day parade. To celebrate those who have served the country in a responsible and safe way, the City encourages residents to remember the country’s fallen heroes by turning on a light, putting out a flag or displaying other decorations.
