Grand Rapids Driver Player Dies
The 26-year-old forward for the Detroit Pistons affiliate team collapsed during a game on Saturday.

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Zeke Upshaw, a 26-year-old forward for the Grand Rapids Drive, died Monday morning, two days after he collapsed the during a G League game against the Long Island Nets. The Drive on Monday announced Upshaw's death via Twitter, citing a statement from the player's mother, Jewel Upshaw.
"After continued efforts from the medical team at Spectrum Health, Zeke made his transition at 11:16 am," according to the statement. "To family, friends, teammates, coaches, fans & confidants, thank you for your prayers and support during this most difficult time."
Upshaw collapsed with about 50 seconds remaining in the game Saturday. He was taken to Spectrum Health, where he remained.

The Drive, an affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, memorialized Upshaw via Twitter on Monday, saying he "had a warm personality and was a tremendous representative of our organization both on and off the court."
A memorial service will be arranged, said his mother.
